What is a PD container (formerly PMD container)?
A PD dumpster can be recognized by its orange lid and is a dumpster specifically for PD: Plasticand Beverage Carton Waste. This was always PMD: Plastic, metal and beverage cardboard, but since Jan. 1, metal has gone out and is now only PD.
PD is very recyclable and therefore makes sense to separate. To prevent these raw materials from disappearing into the general garbage heap, order the special PD container. In this way, you are helping to make your business and the world more sustainable.
PD collection by companies
PD has been collected separately from households for a number of years. Some municipalities have residents have a PD waste container, but elsewhere you take it to general containers along the street or in a neighborhood.
Nowadays, more and more companies are also separating PD. And that's good for several reasons:
- It makes for a better environment
- You make your business sustainable (many clients care)
- Separating waste gets cheaper
Make PD cheaper than residual waste
The PD container for businesses has not been around very long, which is why it is relatively expensive for collectors to currently collect this type of waste. There has been a fee through the government since Jan. 1, 2023, which can make collection a lot more affordable. Want to know more about this? Just get in touch with us. The more companies offer PD separately, the cheaper it becomes to process it, until eventually it is cheaper than residual waste. Just as this is the case with paper and cardboard. Investing in a PD container is investing in lower waste costs for the future.
